John Klippstein

Owner

The son of famed Chicago Cubs pitcher Johnny Klippstein and a former pitcher himself, Klipper has called Tucson home since 2003. He’s built a solid reputation in the automotive services industry, having completed more than 120,000 service transactions in Oro Valley, Marana, and Tucson and 16,000 repairs since opening Klipper Automotive in 2019. John’s proudest moments since opening have been the hundreds of 5 star reviews and the CarFax Top Shop Award!

Jonathan Lunk

General Manager

Jonathan joined Klipper in March 2020. Jonathan, in 2 ½ short years, has become the day-to-day operations director. His critical thinking skills, and unparalleled customer service skills, has made him a favorite with all our customers. Jon joined us after several years in logistics with a major medical device company and service local hospitals. Jonathan will be instrumental in taking Klipper Automotive into the next decades and he welcomes the task.

Mike Bratton

Service Manager

Mike is an institution in his own right! John and Mike met several years ago and finally have an opportunity to work together! Mike has run major repair shops in Tucson for over 40 years! His easy going personality and honest disposition are an added bonus for our customers! Mike truly cares about our great customers!

Susie Petit

Customer Service Coordinator

Susie is also originally from Chicago. Susie spent many years in a family owned trucking business, eventually becoming the owner.

She wears many hats as a scheduler, estimator, and cashier, just to mention a few! Susie will coordinate scheduling for both Klipper locations beginning this fall!

Tim Flanigan

Service Advisor

Tim is a Tucson native who has a distinct interest in automotive service and repair.

Since joining Klipper in May as a General Service tech, Tim has displayed great customer service skills and has since been promoted to service advisor. We are confident that Tim will be a great customer advocate!

Joaquin Franco

General Service Technician

Joaquin and John met late in 2005 while working together at a large auto chain store. John recognized his incredible work ethic and immediately hired him and the two have worked with each other since! Joaquin performs 75% of the general service appointments at Klipper!

Stephen Ross

Master Technician

Stephen is a Master Technician whose career has spanned 29 years. John and Stephen have several years of experience working together at 2 Tucson locations over the past decade. Stephen’s experience and work ethic, drive the shop as well as team moral. Stephen is an active member of the Tucson Bonsai Society, and enjoys spending his free time with his daughter.

Joseph Slover

Diagnostic Technician

Joseph and John first met back in 2004 when Joe entered the automotive field. Since then, the two have worked together twice during that period. Joe is instrumental in getting cars diagnosed and ready for repair. Joe has his hands full with wife and young children.

Mario Lujano

“A” Level Technician

Mario became a team member in the summer of 2022 at Klipper, and we are happy we found him! In a very short time, Mario has proven himself to be a major asset to our team. His work is flawless and timely. He is a welcome addition to the Klipper team and is a positive influence to our staff.

Greg Ewer

Journeyman Technician

Greg and John have worked together since the very first day John came to Tucson. Greg is currently responsible for wearing many different hats in support of the company. Greg works on older vehicles, troubleshoots repairs, and keeps the shop in good mechanical condition.

Aaron Head

Aaron is a Tucson native. He is an ASE technician and will be working in light duty repair. Aaron is married and is an accomplished tattoo artist and loves skateboarding.

Shuttle Drivers

Sandy, Dan, and Joe handle all transportation needs for our customers. All 3 began as customers, now employees and, also friends. John is lucky to have people as courteous as them, to keep customers safe on the road!
